Gargano, Tremiti islands and Daunia

In this territory at the border with Molise, Campania and Basilicata, multiple scenarios characterize the landscape, divided geographically into three areas: the Subappennino, Tavoliere and Gargano. The province of Foggia, which is the northernmost of Puglia, is also called Capitanata, named after the Byzantine official "catapano", and Daunia, the mythical king greek Dauno.

Tremiti Islands

The Tremiti islands emerge from the Adriatic, a dozen miles off the coast of the Gargano.

The archipelago is small: consisting of three islands: San Domino, San Nicola and Caprara, surrounded by a series of rocks and cliffs that rise from the sea not far from the coast.

The islands are surrounded by crystal clear waters, rocky bottoms that reveal a rich variety of fish. The high and rocky coasts, are interrupted by numerous coves with sandy beaches and inviting.

The most important island is San Domino, covered by pine woods.
